Survey Results Reaffirm Quality of
Care:
[From RHA Faces - Volume 3]
In North Carolina, licensed facilities serving people
with developmental disabilities must successfully complete
an annual survey. The NC Division of Facility Services is
the agency charged with developing, implementing, and
enforcing the rules that govern the survey process.
RHA has a long history of successful survey results at
all facilities located across the state. We are particularly
proud of the recent results for our facilities in Cumberland
County. Readers who are well informed will note that the
survey climate in Cumberland County in recent years has
fallen under increased levels of scrutiny as a result of
practices from some providers that cast a negative
impression of group homes. Providers like RHA remain
dedicated to the provision of quality supports, and
cooperate fully with the survey process. As a result, RHA
passed all surveys completed so far this year with flying
colors, receiving no conditional tags. Special recognition
goes out to the staff of Old Wilmington Road, which was
surveyed in March and received zero deficiencies.
Administrator Jan Herring reports, “The success of our
surveys is greatly due to the emphasis RHA places on staff
development. This includes specialized training and
qualified professionals working directly with staff in the
RHA homes.
