Putting Supported
Employment To Work:
[From RHA Faces - Volume 3]

Vocational programs through RHA work to maximize personal potential. Jerry is someone who knows this very well. He is young, active and enjoys learning new skills every day. Theresa McNeil, of the RHA Creedmoor Vocational Center, is Jerry’s job coach. “Jerry takes pride in his work and likes meeting people,” Theresa says. He keeps two jobs, working weekdays at the vocational center assisting with chart management, and on Sundays, Jerry works at the local Dollar General Store. Like most gainfully employed people, Jerry uses his skills to benefit his own interests. He knows how to use the ATM, and he likes to decide how to use his hard earned income. Last year, he earned and saved enough to buy his own bedroom set. Next year, Jerry hopes to save enough for a TV and DVD player. Jerry is very proud of his achievements, as are his family and support team at RHA.
