Welcome to RHA's
Newest Program

RHA acquired two programs in Wilmington, NC as of July 1, 2004 and we would like to formally welcome them to our family.

The WAVE (Wilmington Adult Vocational Enhancement) is a program where individuals work as well as go to school. Each year, vocational assessments are completed to determine what supports are needed to achieve the best possible outcomes. There is contract work available for those who choose to work. At the WAVE, RHA also offers job skills training, work behavior training and money management. The WAVE has started a gift basket business that has proven to be successful in the community.

RHA works with the Cape Fear Community College to provide a compensatory education program for individuals who want to enhance their skills. Whether learning just the basics or learning to operate a computer, individuals are tested to identify their interests before placement in a program. Individuals are also given opportunities to attend outings to explore their community and practice social skills.

The second of the two newest programs for RHA is the Cape Fear Respite home, which provides periodic relief services to families and guardians in the surrounding counties. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and offers many indoor and outdoor activities. If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the services available at RHA/Wilmington, please call 910-251-6616.
